This page outlines our work on the relationship between health, housing and the impact on health inequalities.  It is being carried out as one of our 2013-16 project strands for the Department of Health Strategic Partners programme.

Evidence demonstrates that poor housing can compound poor health and mental health outcomes.  We have carried out a number of activities looking at the relationship between health and housing, and in 2014 will focus in particular on health inequalities and the private rented housing sector.  We will look to facilitate cooperation between the voluntary and community sector, private tenants association as well as national bodies such as Public Health England and the National Housing Federation.
