Domestic violence accounts for 15% of all violent incidents. With around two people every week dying because of violence at home (Home Office, 2006). Domestic violence can affect anyone at any time. It occurs in families in all regions, of all social classes and across all ethnic groups and communities. But it is still largely a hidden crime - which simply isn’t acceptable. The aim of this event will be to challenge the issues facing HAs and LAs who are tackling domestic violence everyday. Delegates will hear from high profile speakers who are leaders in this field.
