Third Sector Strategic Partner programme

Launch of the Third Sector Strategic Partner programme.

The Race Equality Foundation has become one of the 11 specialist organisations working with the Department of Health to transform the way the department works with third sector organisations. 

The 'Third Sector Strategic Partner programme’ was launched by the Care Services Minister Phil Hope in April.

Jabeer Butt, Deputy Chief Executive, Race Equality Foundation said ‘The black and minority ethnic-led third sector has proved to be uniquely able to support 'hard to reach' individuals and communities overcome inequalities in health and social care.  The Race Equality Foundation, therefore, welcomes the investment from Department of Health in strengthening the third sector by building effective partnerships that will contribute to achieving health and social care improvements for all’.

The Strategic Partner roll will be strengthen links between the Department of Health and the third sector, and ensure an input from the third sector in developing health and social care policy.

An evaluation of the SFSC programme shows it continues to have a positive impact on parents. Nearly all (99%) said they would recommend the course to their family and friends.
