It is with great sadness that we have learned Ratna Lachman of JUST West Yorkshire has passed away. Ratna was an advocate for race equality for many decades, working on everything from immigration reform to prevent.

She was involved in CORE (the Coalition of Race Equality) from the beginning.  In addition to addressing local race equality issues in the region, she worked with CORE on the immigration bill, the CORE election manifesto and organised election hustings with JUST.
She supported the Race Equality Foundation in our work, especially in the programme of learning events for the Commissioning of interpreting services for excluded and hard to reach project. Together we put on a series of events about health and race equality.
