Over 3000 young people die every day due to mostly preventable causes, according to the World Health Organisation. Road injuries are the leading cause of death of young men, with over 22 000 recorded fatalities in 2015. The leading cause of death for young women was maternal conditions with 10 100 fatalities in the same year. The report notes that vulnerability to health risks include those 'stigmatized and marginalized because of sexual orientation, gender identity or ethnicity'. Race Equality Foundation has produced briefing on both road safety and maternal health as part of our health and London-based projects.
