Race Equality Foundation response to Transparency in Outcomes

This is our response to Government plans for an outcomes framework to measure the NHS through a clinical outcomes-based approach rather than a target-based approach.  Reflecting feedback obtained through regional ‘informed conversations’, some key themes include:

• the shift from a “process” to “outcomes” approach
• the necessary core principles of an effective outcomes framework
• methods to ensure the delivery of more equitable outcomes and reduction in health inequalities
