Delivering a programme
Facilitators can get help and advice from the Parent Programme Officers in setting up their programme and support whilst delivering it. Programme Officers can be contacted through the support line (link). In addition, many of the questions you may have about programme delivery can be answered through the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) of this site (coming soon).
Strengthening Practice website
The Strengthening Practice website has at last been launched: a web-based network for practitioners who have been trained in the delivery of the Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities Parent Programme. This site will be a valuable addition to the existing package of support that facilitators and agencies delivering the SFSC programme receive from the Race Equality Foundation.

What is Strengthening Practice about?
The Strengthening Practice website:
- provides opportunities for practitioners to seek support from the Foundation and their peers and share best practice with one another; and
- supports the exchange of local and national information relevant to the SFSC model and the parenting sector.
The site includes:
- up-to-date information on all aspects of implementing SFSC
- moderated discussion forums
- events and training listings
- film based resources
- notice board facilities
One of the things we are particularly keen the site will do is support facilitators to access local information relevant to them, and to network within their region and locality. We have therefore set up a number of area based groups on the site open only to facilitators from that geographical area. These groups will contain relevant information for that locality and we encourage facilitators and agencies to submit resources also. These forums should be seen as a useful way to provide information to SFSC facilitators and encourage good practice.

Further skills development for SFSC facilitators
A range of opportunities exist for facilitators to further develop their skills for delivering SFSC and working with parents.
Peer Support Group meetings
Regional Peer Support Groups meet on a quarterly basis. Currently there are six groups in existence: London and South East; North West England, South West England, East Midlands, West Midlands and Yorkshire. These groups meet to discuss issues around parenting work and particularly the delivery of SFSC programmes. The agendas are set by the participants and can involve getting outside speakers in, exploring practical issues such as recruitment or exploration of aspects of the curriculum. They are a useful way of sharing good practice and gaining support.
Please contact your local Parent Programme Officer for further information, or call the telephone support line 020 7619 6232.
