Further skills for Facilitators
Several training courses and support meetings are planned over the next six months which will help SFSC facilitators to explore the programme and develop their skills further. Below is a list of what is happening over the next few months:
Peer support group meeting
Regional Peer Support Groups meet on a quarterly basis. Currently there are four groups in existence: London and South East; North West England, South West England and West Yorkshire. It is likely that we will also establish one in the Midlands in the near future. These groups meet to discuss issues around parenting work and particularly the delivery of SFSC programmes. The agendas are set by the participants and can involve getting outside speakers in, exploring practical issues such as recruitment or exploration of aspects of the curriculum. They are a useful way of sharing good practice and gaining support.
