Training to facilitate the programme

Facilitator training

In order to deliver the programme, facilitators have to undergo substantial training lasting five days. In this, facilitators learn the programme concepts and are introduced to a step by step guide. The training is experiential and facilitators explore the impact of culture and values on how they were raised and on their own child rearing attitudes and behaviour. Facilitators also receive copies of the following materials:

• Facilitators manual;
• Overheads; and
• parent manual.

What does it include?

The training package includes all materials as well as advice, support and supervision from the SFSC parent programme officers to support facilitators to set up, prepare and deliver programmes to the highest standards.

In addition facilitators receive:

• the SFSC newsletter three times a year;
• access to additional training courses to develop skills;
• reduced conference rates; and
• free peer support groups

What does it cost?

The cost of the complete training package including the five day course, materials and ongoing support and supervision is currently £975 per person.

It is also possible for agencies to purchase a complete training for a staff group rather than register for individual places. Please contact Leandra to discuss this further.
