Safeguarding is everyone’s business

Safe Network, South Tyneside LSCB and South Tyneside CVS are organising a FREE Safeguarding Children, Young People and Families event for Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations working across South Tyneside.
Come along and hear from:
- Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) – all organisations still have a duty to refer where they have concerns re someone who is working or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults. Hear from colleagues from the ISA on this and also what might be the implications for the sector when the bill gets Royal Assent in June 2012.
- Safe Network – A presentation on the standards adopted by STLSCB as the preferred model for the VCSE sector to use to ensure their organisation or activity is as safe as possible.
- ST LSCB – Hear from the LSCB re what is happening in South Tyneside including training opportunities for the sector and about the Safeguarding Forum for the VCSE.
- Hear about the learning from recent Serious Case Reviews and the implications of this and the Munro report for the VCSE sector. – Howard Jones - Vice chair Haringey LSCB
There will be free resources available to take away and a networking lunch.
Following the event the quarterly Safeguarding Forum meeting will take place.
